Nature of the service
China Legal Portal is a directory and information resource. We list lawyers and publish educational content about Chinese law for foreign businesses and individuals. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice as your counsel.
No attorney–client relationship
Using the site, posting comments, or submitting “Ask a Lawyer” / consultation forms does not create an attorney–client relationship with China Legal Portal or with any listed lawyer. A relationship with a lawyer arises only if you and that lawyer enter a separate engagement.
Not legal advice
Articles, guides, wiki pages, and lawyer profiles are for general information. Laws change and facts differ. You should obtain advice from a qualified lawyer for your situation.
Directory listings
We aim to list verified counsel, but we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any profile. Lawyers are responsible for the information they provide. Fees and engagement terms are between you and the lawyer.
User submissions
You agree not to submit unlawful, defamatory, or confidential third-party information through forms or comments. Do not send highly sensitive case files through public forms. You grant us a non-exclusive license to process submissions to operate the service (including sharing consultation requests with lawyers for response).
Acceptable use
You may not scrape the site in bulk without permission, attempt to disrupt security, misrepresent your identity to obtain confidential data, or use listings for spam.
Intellectual property
Site design, branding, and original content are owned by China Legal Portal or its licensors. You may link to public pages; do not copy substantial content without permission.
Third-party sites
Links to lawyer websites or other resources are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, China Legal Portal is not liable for decisions you make based on directory information or articles, or for lawyers’ services. The site is provided “as is.”
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify China Legal Portal against claims arising from your misuse of the site or your submissions.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong SAR, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections where they apply. Courts of Hong Kong have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
