How China Legal Portal works: browse, evaluate and contact counsel with clear boundaries.
Clients find relevant directory and guide routes, assess declared profile information, and contact a lawyer directly. Lawyers can request a listing review. The platform does not add a referral fee layer or become counsel for the matter.
Read the relevant record, then take the next action with the boundary in view.
Directory and information platformClient pathways
Different matters start in different places.
The operating model clarifies when to use a practice or location directory, an international corridor, or a structured intake. It deliberately separates platform navigation from legal advice.
China-side matter
- Practice or local market
- Review profile context
- Contact directly
Overseas matter
- Jurisdiction or corridor
- Review host-country counsel
- Contact directly
Not sure which route applies
- Describe the essential facts
- Identify China / overseas / both
- Continue through the appropriate directory or intake route
Platform boundary. China Legal Portal is not counsel and does not form the engagement. Evaluation, conflicts, fees and advice sit with the lawyer you contact. Detailed eligibility, ordering and removal rules live on Listing Standards.
For lawyers
Request a listing review with the relevant record.
Listing is not automatic. The short lifecycle is Submit → Review → Publish → Maintain. Verification criteria stay on Listing Standards rather than being duplicated here.
Provide firm, licence, practice, languages and a direct contact pathway.
Directory information is assessed against the applicable listing standard.
An approved profile becomes discoverable under the relevant route and status label.
Material changes, corrections or re-checks keep the record current.
Continue with the right record
The right next action starts with the right platform context.
Use the platform record, operating model, standards and policies, or support desk without mistaking directory information for legal advice.
