Who we are
We are a directory and information platform, not a law firm. Contacting us or submitting a form does not create an attorney–client relationship with China Legal Portal or with any listed lawyer until you separately engage that lawyer.
Data we collect
- Contact and consultation forms — name, email, phone/WeChat/WhatsApp (if provided), city, practice area, urgency, language preference, and the content of your message.
- Lawyer listing applications — professional details you submit to be listed or claim a profile.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and approximate location, via server logs and security tools (including Cloudflare).
- Cookies — session cookies required for the site to function; analytics cookies if enabled.
How we use data
- To respond to support, partnership, and press inquiries
- To triage free consultation requests and introduce you to suitable listed lawyers
- To operate, secure, and improve the website
- To process lawyer listing and verification workflows
Sharing
We may share consultation details with one or more listed lawyers for the purpose of responding to your request. We do not sell personal data. We use service providers (hosting, email, security, captcha) who process data on our instructions.
Retention
Form submissions are kept as long as needed for follow-up and legitimate business records, then deleted or anonymized. Server logs are rotated on a routine schedule.
