Editorial Policy: how we source, review and correct content.

China Legal Portal publishes English-language legal guides, directory pages and cross-border orientation content. This policy explains the standards behind sourcing, structure, human review, updates, commercial independence and corrections.

Policy record

Public disclosure

Useful legal orientation needs visible standards for what is sourced, framed, reviewed, updated and corrected.

01

Purpose & audience

Editorial content should help international parties dealing with China and China-connected parties dealing with overseas jurisdictions understand legal routes before they seek counsel.

02

Sources & evidence

Writers should use primary legal and official materials where practical, treat reputable secondary commentary as context, distinguish settled rules from practice observations, and flag uncertainty.

03

Editorial structure

Flagship guides should use plain-language summaries, descriptive headings, practical steps or risks, useful FAQs, related hubs and a clear route to qualified counsel where legal advice is needed.

04

Review & updates

High-traffic and legally sensitive content should be reviewed after material legal changes and on a periodic basis. A last-reviewed date should represent a meaningful editorial review, not a cosmetic CMS edit.

05

Commercial independence

Paid listings, featured profiles, sponsorship and advertising must not be presented as neutral editorial ranking or as evidence that a lawyer is more qualified for a particular matter.

06

Corrections & accountability

Readers can report a material error with the page URL, the point at issue and supporting material. The editorial team should investigate, correct when warranted and preserve a clear route for follow-up.
