Position in the system
The Beijing Intellectual Property Court is a specialist court within China's People's Court system. Its role is defined by the rules allocating particular intellectual-property and related administrative matters to specialist judicial forums.
For a foreign business, the important question is not simply whether a dispute involves intellectual property. The subject matter, procedural posture, location, administrative decision involved and current jurisdiction rules determine whether this court is the correct forum.
This record should be maintained from official court and judicial sources. Do not infer jurisdiction from the court's name alone.
