The court concentrates designated financial civil, commercial and administrative matters in one specialist forum. Its creation does not make every dispute involving money or a financial company a financial-court case: the current allocation rules and the dispute's connecting facts still determine venue.

Banking and insurance disputes
Banking, insurance and other regulated-finance disputes require a venue check: the parties' industry status alone does not establish the court's jurisdiction.

The court also has a public-law role for categories of financial administrative cases assigned to it, distinct from private contractual claims.
