Overtime details
Alternative working-hours systems generally require approval and can change overtime treatment.
Use the legally applicable overtime wage base under the employment contract, collective agreement and local wage rules. The calculator does not determine that base for you.
Legal basis
National overtime rates
Under Article 44 of the PRC Labor Law, employer-arranged overtime is generally paid at no less than 150% for extended hours on a normal working day, 200% for rest-day work where equivalent compensatory rest is not arranged, and 300% for work on statutory holidays.
The current national conversion notice, effective from 2025, keeps the monthly paid-day divisor at 21.75 days. Accordingly, this tool derives the hourly base as monthly wage base ÷ (21.75 × 8), i.e. monthly wage base ÷ 174.
