Can a Chinese company establish a French subsidiary?
Yes, but legal form, governance, registration, beneficial ownership, tax, VAT, employment, licences, funding, and China-side requirements should be assessed for the actual project.
Could a Chinese investment require French FDI authorization?
Potentially. Prior authorization can apply where the investor, transaction, control or voting position, and protected activity fall within the French screening regime. Obtain current French advice before signing or closing.
Does Paris counsel automatically cover all EU law?
No. Scope depends on the lawyer’s qualifications, the EU rule or institution involved, and the Member States affected. Confirm the mandate directly.
