Overseas service is a court channel that takes months — WeChat to the export manager is not a summons.
If the defendant is outside Mainland China, the people’s court generally serves via Hague Service Convention (subject to China’s reservations), bilateral treaties, or diplomatic channels. Postal service is often not available because of reservations. A PRC WFOE of the same group is not automatically the foreign parent. Announcement service is exceptional. Bad service is how default judgments die. Family outbound service is a different wiki. Plan the calendar before you promise a client a trial date.
