Legal basis

Scope

Under the current national rule effective 1 March 2025, a vessel carrying dangerous goods generally applies to the MSA 24 hours before entering or leaving port; if the voyage is under 24 hours, the application is made before departing the previous port. Periodic declaration and cargo-specific reporting/document rules may also apply.
