Current-law scope and cautions
- Health food and specified medical-device advertisements are subject to special advertising review/approval regimes; exact scope depends on product category and current SAMR/NMPA rules.
- Health food must not claim disease prevention/treatment; medical-device claims must stay within approved/registered scope and advertising rules.
- Ordinary food is not treated as health food merely because marketing uses “wellness” language.
